- The iconic Charles bridge’s foundation stone, was laid exactly at 5.31 AM on 9th July 1357 . This is because King Charles the IV wanted the stone to be laid in a pattern of 1-3-5-7-9-7-5-3-1.
- Prague has been called as a “Museum of architecture under the open sky” owing to it’s majestic and articulately built buildings which are neither rebuilt nor destroyed and are still intact.
- Prague has one of the narrowest streets in the world measuring only about 50 cms wide, and has its own street lights, to regulate the flow of people, so as not create a traffic jam.

- Prague consumes the most amount of beer per capita in the world.
- The astronomical clock tower, which is now the symbol of Prague, is over 600 years ! Prague celebrated its 600th anniversary on 9th October 2010.
- The creator of the astronomical clock, Hanus Corolinum, was blinded so he couldn’t replicate it anywhere else.
- The Prague castle is one of the largest in the world , but is recorded as The largest castle according to Guinness book of world records.
- Great Musicians like Mozart, Beethoven, Franz Liszt gave their performances in Prague.
- There is a monument dedicated to John Lennon of the Beatles, which is at the end of the Charles bridge. It has changing portraits of John Lennon, and messages from visiting artists from all over.
